Isla Negra is a beautiful town located along the ocean in the central zone of Chile. It is home to our beloved Nobel Prize winning poet, Pablo Neruda.
We invite you to join us for poetry reading on the beach that inspired many of his works, witness the exact site where many of his poems and songs came to life and look back at the history that shaped his life.
We will visit Nerudas home that holds his outstanding collections of ships in bottles, mastheads and shells. You will also have the chance to pay your respects at Nerudas tomb.
Lunch will be served at El Kaleuche, a restaurant overlooking the impressive and wild Chilean ocean.
Your return to Santiago can be done via Pomaire or Cartagena. Pomaire is a large artisan and handicrafts village where you can have a look at the local pottery. Cartagena is a coastal resort popular at the beginning of the century and home to another famous Chilean poet, Vicente Huidobro. Here you will have the chance to see both the house where he lived and his tomb, high in the hills.
